College Entrance Exams

While entrance exams don’t tell everything about you or your accomplishments, they’re one of the factors schools consider to gauge your aptitude for college success. The most common entrance exams are the ACT, the SAT and SAT Subject Tests. Check with the admissions office at your prospective colleges to find out which test(s) are required. 

Consider taking the PSAT/NMSQT and AP Exams as well. In addition to preparing you for the SAT, the PSAT/NMSQT gives you an opportunity to enter the National Merit Scholarship Corporation scholarship programs. Through AP Exams, your high school work can count toward credits or advanced standing at some colleges and universities.
